Theprogram

This program is an intensive therapeutic program for young people with high and complex needs. It is a 24 hour staffed residential with two staff on shift at all times. At maximum capacity the program can accommodate up to 6 young people between the ages of 14 and 18 for a period of approximately 12 months.

Overview of program

1. Aiming to achieve a change in behaviour using the skills and values defined by our relational model of practice.
   
   
2. To achieve personal growth and living skills.
   
   
3. Outreach support on leaving the program to ensure a transition to community or supported accommodation.
   
   
4. The services offered to young people involve preparing a case plan with a list of goals they wish to achieve while living in Phoenix. The case plan may include some of the following:
   
   
   • Living successfully in a share house community
     
     
   • Living skills, including budgeting and cooking
     
     
   • Brief counselling
     
     
   • Brokered specialised counselling
     
     
   • Conflict resolution and mediation
     
     
   • Job search and educational options
     
     
   • Recreational activities
     
     
   • Assistance with legal requirements and negotiating government departments
     
     
   • Advocating needs and rights
     
     
   • Negotiated assistance with transport
